What delivery charges does Talon charge me

All orders are exclusive of delivery fee unless specified in the order process. Talon Gear makes use of door to door delivery using RAM Couriers to all major centres in South Africa. Delivery fees, where relevant, are specified and quoted in the final order confirmation sent to prospective buyers by a member of Talon Gear's sales team before purchases are finalised.

I am having difficulty adding a product to my cart

Sometimes an item will not be added to your cart, despite you trying repeatedly to purchase it. This happens automatically to protect you from purchasing an item which is either out of stock or an item requiring special order. In this case, you should contact us via email info@talongear.co.za or call us on +27 83 738 5074 to place an order, and we will be sure to get the product to you as soon as we can.

Where in the World can Talon Gear deliver

At present Talon Gear is only able to fullfil orders that have a South African delivery address. We are working on cost effective ways of getting our gear to everyone in the World, and will be sure to let the public know once we have found a way.

The competition winner is chosen by means of a lucky draw from all the correct answers given during the competion period.

If you have submitted the correct answer, you will only gain one entry into the competition, so there is no need to enter multiple times, everyone with the correct answer will have equal chance to win.

What is the difference between Porro prism and roof prism?

Prism design is mostly a matter of preference. Roof prism binoculars have a slim, straight profile and are more compact. They are often more expensive, because their
smaller prisms require more precise lens grinding and polishing to achieve excellent image quality. Porro prism binoculars are recognized by their offset lens barrel design. As a result of the design, the wider spacing of their objective lenses enhances perspective to produce a more realistic, three-dimensional image.

What do the numbers mean on each model of binocular?

10x42. Those numbers in front of binocular models, what do they mean? The first number represents the magnification power - in this case, 10 times larger than viewed with the naked eye. The second number represents the diameter (in millimeters) of the objective lens - in this case, 42mm. The objective lens is the lens closest to the object you're looking at (not the lens that's closest
to your eye) and is a good indicator of the binoculars' light-gathering power.

Can I track my order myself if need be?

Yes once your order has been confirmed, and proof of payment has been received, we will supply you with your receipt, and a tracking number with the courier company we use, as well as their contact details, should you need to contact them yourself. Their details can also be found in our terms and conditions.

Is it safe to pay with a credit card online through Talon Gear?

Yip! We do not store any of your credit card details on our site, or on any of the systems which we use. Once you have submitted your card details, the information automatically gets encrypted and passed on to a independant registered payment portal company approved by the South African banking systems. This ensures that your details are never made available by anyone at Talon Gear to the general public, making shopping with us safe and stress free!

When will my order arrive?

We strive to process all orders within 12 hours of receiving notification of payment, which means that we could have your parcel packaged, and on its way to you with 1 day of receiving your order. Depending on your delivery address, delivery could take anything between 2 and 5 working days. Please also be aware that courier companies do not work on weekends.

Do I need an account to shop on Talon Gear

No, you don't need an account to shop with us, no registration email necessary, just simply select the products you desire, and then follow the checkout process. Our system will capture all the details necessary to ensure that your parcels arrive with you in no time at all.

How do I place an order on Talon Gear?

Placing an order on Talon Gear is as easy as 1, 2, 3

1 - Select a product from our wide range of quality, field tested outdoor gear, and then simply click on the "add to cart" button. This will then place the item into your "cart"

2 - Once done with shopping, and you are sure that you have added all the items you require to your cart, click on the "checkout" button. From here you will have to fill in a details form which will allow us to gather all the contact and delivery details we need to ensure your product arrives with you, for your enjoyment in the great outdoors.

3 - Once you have completed these steps, and submitted your order, a confirmation email, with your order details will be sent to the address you have provided. Hereafter, a representative from Talon will be in touch as soon as is possible, with an accurate quotation based on your delivery details.

4 - Once you are happy with all the details, payment can be made via EFT, or instant EFT or credit card via our online merchant facilities with PayFast.
